Mother accused of leaving child with Down's home alone for drugs

A mother is facing charges of leaving her kids, including a 2-year-old son with Down Syndrome, home alone for heroin.

Cleveland Police have filed child endangering charges against Jamie Doubrava. Records show she went to shoot up heroin, leaving her 2-year-old son with downs syndrome home alone
in the 3100 block of West 92nd in Cleveland.

Police say mom admitted several times she left the 2-year-old home alone with a 10-year-old sister. Police say this case happened in April but Doubrava was just arrested.

Police had been looking for her for months. One child is now in foster care while the other is with the child's father.

Heroin has become such a big problem and turned so deadly investigators consider it an epidemic. Maybe powerful enough to make a mom leave her kids home alone.

We tried reaching mom with no luck. As for heroin ripping apart families, a police report shows this woman's mother called police.
