ST. TAMMANY PARISH, LA (WVUE) - A New Orleans police officer has been placed on emergency suspension without pay after being arrested for drunken driving Saturday.
Officer David Aranda, 26, was stopped at about 9 p.m. after Causeway police said they saw him driving erratically in his personal car while heading northbound on the bridge.
Causeway police said Aranda was arrested after he failed a field sobriety test.
Aranda is suspended pending the outcome of an investigation into the incident. He is a five-year veteran of the NOPD and was most recently assigned to the First District.
