New Orleans Police say that a man was robbed at gunpoint after arranging to meet with a man he met on a chat line.
Officers say that the victim met a man known as Dwayne on the "Party Line," believed to be a New Orleans area phone chat line.
On August 7, police say the victim decided to meet Dwayne for the first time in person. The victim tells police he scheduled to meet him Thursday afternoon in the 2600 block of Caffin Avenue.
Arriving at the scene, the victim tells police he approached the suspect's vehicle, a white older model Chevy Impala with 20-inch rims. Police say the suspect then stepped out of the Impala and produced a handgun.
Officers say the suspect demanded the victim to give him everything he had. After the victim handed over his wallet, officers say the suspect fled southbound on Caffin Avenue turning westbound on North Claiborne Avenue.
The victim stated he attempted to follow Dwayne, but lost the suspect on North Claiborne Avenue.
'Dwayne' has been described as a black male with a Mohawk-type hairstyle. Officers say he is approximately 6-foot-3 and weighs around 155 pounds. He was last seen wearing camouflage shorts and a black t-shirt.
