4 shot at birthday party in Houma

HOUMA, LA (WVUE) -

A birthday party ended in a quadruple shooting last night in Houma.

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office reports that around 11 p.m. on Aug. 8 police responded to several 911 calls about someone who was shot at the CWA Hall on Westside Boulevard.

Police say there was a crowd of about 150 people around the building when they arrived. Patrolmen found a male subject with a single gunshot wound inside who said he was shot by an unknown person while standing outside the building. The victim and crowd were there for a private birthday party, according to police.

While gathering information, police learned that three additional shooting victims were at the Terrebonne General Medical Center. Detectives said that one of the victims sustained non-life threatening wounds, while two others were shot multiple times and are listed in critical condition.

Witnesses say that there were at least two shooters, according to police. The motive for the shooting is unknown.

Anyone with information concerning this crime to contact Crimestoppers for a reward (1-800-743-7433) or the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office.
