Organizers prepare to hold a fundraiser for a mother and her three children injured in a deadly Lower Ninth Ward shooting.

Jasmine Anderson, 16, and Terrance McBride, 33, were killed in the shooting on Sunday night. Police say that several men opened fire on a group of people, speeding away from the scene in their vehicle. The shooting happened around 8 p.m. Sunday in the 5400 block of Burgundy Street.

Police say McBride was the intended target of the shooting. Numerous others were caught in the crossfire.

Five others were wounded in the shooting, including a mother and her three children. Two of the children have been identified as toddlers, ages 2 and 4. According to our partners at NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune, the 4-year-old is permanently blind and the 2-year-old suffers from brain damage.

The mother works at Bourbon Heat. The French Quarter club is hosting a concert Wednesday night at 6 p.m. Organizers say that a $20 cover charged will help with medical expenses for the mother and her children.

In the meantime, investigators continue their search for suspects. Police Chief Ronal Serpas urges anyone with information to come forward.

"The shooter is the person we all want right now, and people who know who the shooter is should go ahead and get that off their chest," Serpas said.

New Orleans Police Superintendent Ronal Serpas said Tuesday that police believe they know who was in the car involved in Sunday's drive-by shooting in the Lower Ninth Ward and who witnessed the crime, but they need the public to help identify the shooter.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
