Concert to benefit youngest victims of drive-by shooting

The relatives of the two youngest victims of Sunday's drive-by shooting say they're struggling to cope with the tragedy. The family showed up at a benefit concert Wednesday night on Bourbon Street.

An all-star lineup drew a large crowd, with proceeds benefiting Alanna Romain and her children – a 2-year-old left with brain damage and a 4-year-old who is now blind. Romain's father said there are no words to describe how devastated the family is.

Romain was hit in the stomach and just got out of intensive care. Her 13-year-old daughter was also injured in the shooting.

The owner of Bourbon Heat, the club where the fundraiser was being held and where Romain is employed, said he hopes to raise $20,000, with all of the money going to the family.
