Carnival krewes will have a few new rules to follow.
City Council laid out the changes Thursday, according to our partners at NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune
No one under the age of three can now ride in a parade. And starting in 2016, no generators will be allowed on floats. All electricity must come from the truck.
There are also stricter regulations for flambeaux carriers.
The city has decided to cap the number of parade permits, according to Nola.com. The city will issue no more than 30 permits each year. However, all groups that paraded the previous year will be granted a permit.
The council did allow the Krewe of Tucks to continue to toss its signature toilet paper rolls.
