Judge re-sentences ex-NOPD officer who burned body after Katrina

Former New Orleans police officer Gregpru McRae has been re-sentenced in connection with one of the crimes that came to symbolize the chaos and law enforcement scandals that followed Hurricane Katrina.

A federal judge stuck to the 17-year sentence McRae originally received.

An appeals court threw out one of five federal charges on which McCrae was convicted and said his sentence had to be reconsidered.
