Man posing as insurance salesman targets elderly 7th Ward resident

New Orleans police are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating a man wanted for theft targeting the elderly.

The offense occurred August 6 at about 9 p.m. in the 2400 block of LaHarpe Street.

Police said a 93-year-old man answered a knock on his door from a man claiming to be an insurance salesman and let him inside his home. The victim agreed to let the man walk through his house for an insurance quote. When he left, the victim discovered that his wallet was stolen.

The suspect is described as a black man about 5'11" tall and 150 pounds with a gray and silver short afro hair style. He was wearing gray pants and a gray shirt.
