People behind the effort to expand the Convention Center have a plan they think will ease traffic in the Warehouse District and rework the way cars, bikes and pedestrians circulate in the area.

Part of the plan involves reducing Convention Center Boulevard to one lane in each direction and expanding the area's pedestrian plaza and bike lane.

It also involves making street improvements that would encourage more commuters to use S. Peters and Tchoupitoulas streets.

The Public Works Department, the Regional Planning Commission and the state Department of Transportation are evaluating the proposals.
