Laplace man charged in rape, kidnapping of New Orleans teen

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested a Laplace man wanted for the kidnapping and rape of a 19-year-old New Orleans woman.

Police say the woman was walking in the 700 block of North Villere on August 17th when a vehicle stopped beside her and two suspects got out.

Kevin Allen, 20, of Laplace allegedly placed a towel over the victim's face while a second subject placed her in a choke hold and forced her into the car.

Allen, armed with a gun, told the woman he would shoot her if she screamed. She was then driven to Laplace and then taken to a wooded area in Montz where she was repeatedly raped.

The two suspects also stole the victim's cell phone, money, and ID cards.

She was eventually dropped off in Kenner around 8am.

Allen was arrested and charged with aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping, and armed robbery. He is being held on a $1 million bond.

Police say more arrests are expected.
