Five wanted for French Quarter assault, robbery

New Orleans detectives are searching for five men who attacked a robbed a man in the French Quarter. The incident occurred Saturday at 4:00 a.m. in the 100 block of Iberville Street.

Police say that the 25-year-old victim was walking within the block when five men approached him. One of the five hit the victim with a stick or metal pipe. After the victim fell to the ground the men robbed him before running away. The victim was transported to the hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.

The five suspects are described as African-American men. The first suspect was wearing black shorts and a black shirt, while the second was wearing black pants and a black shirt. The third suspect was wearing light blue shorts and a white tank top. The fourth was wearing khaki shorts and a white shirt while the fifth was wearing red shoes, white shorts, a red shirt and a red ski cap.
