The driver of the 18-wheeler exited the vehicle on her own and received emergency care at the scene before being taken to New Orleans East Hospital with injuries to her face, left arm and right knee.

The driver was still being held for observation Tuesday evening.

The driver of the 18-wheeler swerved to avoid the vehicle, and her vehicle overturned and slid into median separating east and westbound traffic on I-10.
