METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) - As the fans packed the stands for one final look at Saints Training Camp, they were treated to a nice surprise. Fresh after the birth of his fourth child, Drew Brees was back on the field
" There's nothing like it," Brees said. "It's the greatest thing in the world. It's God's greatest gift. Boys or girls, but to have four healthy babies. Three boys and a girl, that was our ideal scenario back when Brittany and I first got married."
Once on the field Brees hit Jimmy Graham during team drills and Travaris Cadet during red zone.
Defensively, the secondary shines once again. During individual drills, Patrick Robinson stripped Joe Morgan to steal a fumble. Later, Vinnie Sunseri knocked a pass away from Brandon Coleman. Then Corey White knocked the ball away at the last second from on a near catch by Nick Toon.
And in one of the final competitions at camp, Shayne Graham and Derek Dimke squared off. Graham went seven of right; Dimke was perfect.
But in the final drill of the day, it was Graham that got the best of Dimke.
"Both of those guys, to their credit, and I say this, both of them are going to be kicking this season," said Head Coach Sean Payton. "I think other teams see us as a place that has a kicker possibly that is good enough to play for them."
Tuesday was also cut day for the Saints, and they trimmed their roster down to 75 by cutting players like linebackers Kevin Reddick and Victor Butler. Payton said days like today never get any easier.
