Police name suspect in Central City shooting

A 17-year-old is wanted for attempted murder after a young man was shot several times in Central City, police say.

Officers say that a 24-year-old man was shot multiple times on August 20 in the 2200 block of Saint Andrew Street. The incident happened around 4:20 p.m.

Police have named Brandon Dwyer, 17, as a suspect. According to police, Dwyer walked up to the victim and shot him multiple times. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

The victim was transported to the hospital where he is currently listed in stable condition.

Dwyer has previously been arrested for felony possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana and possession of stolen property. His last known address is 2455 Mexico Street.

Crimestoppers is offering up to a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of Dwyer. Anyone with information on Dwyer's whereabouts is asked to contact Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
