BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) - Candidates for the Nov. 4 elections had until Friday to officially sign up. One of the most high-profile races is for US Senate.
Bill Cassidy is incumbent Mary Landrieu's main Republican challenger. The two swapped words over leadership and effectiveness while they filed documents in Baton Rouge while qualifying.
Landrieu touted her leadership as the chair of the Senate energy committee while Cassidy pushed his Republican ties, which he said more closely represents the entire state of Louisiana.
Tea Party favorite Rob Maness could also provide a challenge to Cassidy and Landrieu.
Other candidates include Democrats Wayne Ables, Raymond Brown, Vallian Senegal, and William P. Waymire Jr. The other Republican candidate is Thomas Clements. Brannon Lee McMorris is running as a Libertarian.
