4 arrested in alleged Oak Harbor drug deal, sheriff says

SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) - Four people were in custody Wednesday after an overnight drug deal went bad in Oak Harbor near Slidell, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office.

Arrested are Jimmy Coyne, 23, of Folsom; Kelsey Schoenbeger, 18, of Lacombe; Donice Garrett, 23, of Folsom; and Jonathan Vines, 23 of Slidell. Coyne, Garett and Schoenbeger face drug possession and armed robbery charges. Vines faces possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

The sheriff's office received a 911 call at about 12:30 a.m. from someone reporting gunfire outside a home on Cape Breton Drive.

Detectives determined that the arrested suspects and others were at the house during an attempted drug deal. During the transaction, shots were fired and one man was hit in the stomach and buttocks.

The victim man, whose name is not being released, was taken to a south shore hospital where he underwent surgery. He is out of the intensive care unit and is expected to be released in a day or two.

The sheriff's office said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
