Greg Meffert, a key prosecution witness in the Ray Nagin federal corruption trial, was sentenced Thursday to 30 months in prison.
Meffert, the city's former chief technology officer, made hundreds of thousands of dollars by steering millions of dollars of no-bid work for city crime cameras to a company owned by businessman Mark St. Pierre.
Pierre is now serving prison time in connection with that case. Meffert cooperated with the feds, testifying against convicted former New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin.
Meffert pleaded guilty in 2012.
