Brees feels 'a lot is at stake' with Falcons matchup

It's a matchup between two teams that has come down to the wire time and time again.

On the road in 2012, quarterback Drew Brees threw five interceptions and snapped his consecutive games with a touchdown pass streak.

Despite all that, it was a 10 point loss.

In 2013's season opener in the Dome, the Saints defense fought back with a 23-17 win.

"Both teams are very high achieving, both teams have won a lot of games," said Brees. "Both teams play well at home, both teams know how to win and know the formula. Every time you play these games, you feel like there's a lot at stake. You're playing for a lot and I'd like to think that brings out the best in us. You can think too many occasions where this game has meant the division championship or certainly had playoff implications."

Sunday will be the 90th meeting between the Saints and Falcons. In their previous 89 meetings, according to ESPN, the average score was 22-21.
