TERRYTOWN, LA (WVUE) -

A woman died of apparent blunt-force trauma to the head Wednesday afternoon in Terrytown.

The homicide was reported at 2:44 p.m. in the 700 block of Terry Parkway by the deceased woman's daughter, who said she found her mother in the living room of the home.

The victim, identified as Mary Ann Romano, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide investigators are looking for Romano's vehicle, a silver 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe with Louisiana handicapped license plate number 316498.

Jefferson Parish Councilman Chris Roberts posted the following on Facebook:

"With regards to the incident on Terry Pkwy, this address and the occupants have had several brushes with the law and it is very unlikely this is a random act. Let the detectives do their job before people run scared and jump to conclusions. Highly unlikely this is a random act."

Anyone with information about Romano's death or the location of her SUV is asked to contact Homicide Detective Rhonda Goff at (504) 364-5300 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
