Undercover drug sting nets 20 arrests, 18 suspects are repeat offenders

A six-month undercover narcotics operation focusing on cocaine sales resulted in 20 arrests in Plaquemines Parish.

Police say 18 of the 20 arrested are repeat offenders.

The investigation initially targeted 16 alleged street-level drug dealers and their mid-level drug suppliers.

Officers announced the outcome of ‘Operation Crackdown' on Friday. Officials with the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office state that undercover officers made purchases from the alleged dealers between February and August in the Westbank of Plaquemines Parish.

Police say they were able to seize approximately a half pound of cocaine; 18 pounds of marijuana; and several dosage units of Oxycodone, and Alprazolam.

In addition to the initial targets of the investigation, officers say four others were also arrested. Police say that five residential search warrants were issued for narcotics and firearms violations. Police seized 12 firearms, nearly $9,500 in cash, cell phones, computers and one vehicle. Officers say one of the warrants targeted three convicted felons allegedly in possession of several firearms.

Police say one of the arrested suspects also offered an undercover agent sex in exchange for cash.

Of the 20 arrested, police say 18 were repeat offenders with prior arrests for drug possession or distribution. Many were convicted of their crimes.

Those charged include:

  • Sandra Bartholomew, 51, charged with distribution of cocaine
  • Stephen Boling, 26, charged with distribution of Oxycodone
  • Chance Chelette, 29, charged with three counts of marijuana distribution and one count of distribution of Oxycodone
  • Alfred Eason, 46, charged with one count of distribution of Tizanidine
  • Dimitri Gagliano, 18, charged with two counts of distribution of marijuana
  • Inge Judd, 36, charged with distribution of Alprazolam, one count of attempted distribution of cocaine, one count of theft and one count of prostitution
  • Travis Riley, 31, charged with five counts of distribution of cocaine
  • Jehad Saleh, 29, charged with two counts of distribution of synthetic marijuana
  • Rayshoun Smith, 29, charged with one count of distribution of marijuana, one count of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Carl Stewart, 45, charged with charged with one count of distribution of marijuana
  • Michael Taylor, 42, charged with two counts of distribution of marijuana
  • Myron Turner, 34, charged with five counts of cocaine distribution
  • Albert Vereem, 33, charged with five counts of cocaine distribution
  • Demond Williams, 34, charged with three counts of cocaine distribution
  • Ernestine Sellers, 40, charged with two counts of cocaine distribution
  • Joseph Williamson, 25, charged with one count of cocaine distribution
  • Patrick Dugan Jr., 22, charged with one count of possession of marijuana and THC crystals, one count of possession of firearms with a controlled dangerous substance, one count of possession of a CDS in the presence of a minor and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Melvin Riley III, 34, charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with a CDS
  • Steven Turner, 51, charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Tommie Leonard, 56, charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Police say that 19 of the 20 suspects have been arrested. Steven Boling has been located in Houston, Texas. Officers say arrangements have been made for Boling to turn himself in to authorities.
