Clinging to a cooler after a wave capsized their boat, two people were rescued from the Bonnet Carre Spillway on Monday evening.
The Coast Guard and St. Charles Sheriff's Office rescued two individuals around 7 p.m. Monday.
Officials say that a wave capsized a boat in the Bonnet Carre Spillway leaving two people stranded in the water. A small boat crew and a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew were deployed to the scene.
Coast Guard officials say the helicopter crew safely hoisted one person from the water and flew him back to Air Station New Orleans.
The St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office boat crew recovered a second person from the water.
No injuries were reported.
