A woman was arrested Tuesday in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in an Uptown fast food parking lot.
Cindy Lee, 44, was booked with second-degree murder in the in connection with the Sunday death of 28-year-old Derrick Christmas.
At around 8 p.m., Sixth District officers were called to investigate a man down in the parking lot of Church's Chicken at 1600 S. Claiborne Avenue. Officers found Christmas unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He was taken to the hospital, where he died.
Over the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Lee and Christmas got into an argument in the parking lot. As a result, police believe Lee fired three shots at Christmas from the inside of her car. Two of those shots struck Christmas in the stomach.
The investigation is ongoing.
