Buras man arrested in shooting of his brother

A 31-year-old Buras man has been arrested following the shooting of his younger brother.

Frederick Barrois, 31, was arrested following the shooting on Saturday night.

The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting in the 35500 block of Highway 11 in Buras. Deputies arriving on the scene found a 29-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers have described the injuries as non-life threatening.

Deputies say that soon after, Barrois was located nearby. Officials state that Barrois shot his younger brother in the right thigh and foot during an altercation.

Both brothers were transported to separate hospitals.

Upon release, Barrois was charged with aggravated second degree battery and two outstanding traffic bench warrants form Plaquemines Parish.

He was booked in Belle Chasse Lockup and is being held on a $15,000 bond.
