Coroner identifies victim in Algiers double stabbing

ALGIERS, LA (WVUE) - The Orleans Parish Coroner has identified a 40-year-old victim in a deadly Algiers double stabbing.

Police received reports of the stabbing shortly after 3 a.m. Tuesday morning in the 1300 block of Flanders Street.

Arriving officers found two men stabbed. Robert Hamilton, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers say a second victim, identified as a 45-year-old man, was found with multiple stab wounds.

The 45-year-old victim was transported to the hospital. His condition and name is unknown at this time.

Neighbors are shaken following the incident. It is the second homicide at the intersection of Flanders and Socrates this month.

On September 12, police sat a man was shot in the head and crashed into a tree across the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
