Wednesday meeting for possible Entergy rebates

Louisiana's Public Service Commission will consider refunding money to thousands of Entergy customers.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission re-calculated refunds awarded to customers for 2007-2009.

As a result, a total of $35 million in rebates will be divided and refunded to Entergy Louisiana and Entergy Gulf States customers if approved by the commission.

"It looks like it's about $10.40 per average customer for EGSL customers and about $7.50 for Entergy Louisiana customers," explained Eric Skrmetta, Public Service Commission Chairman. "We require that all of this money be paid back to the rate payers at one time and not be spread out, it's not fair to the consumer."

Nearly 900,000 customers may be impacted.

The public service commission meeting begins at 9 a.m. Wednesday morning at the state supreme court.
