Houma man arrested, charged with attempted murder

A 26-year-old Houma man has been arrested on attempted murder charges for his alleged involvement in an attempted shooting.

Herman "Pee Wee" Williams, 26, was arrested on Monday.

Officers say the arrest stems from an incident on September 30. Houma Police responded to reports of shots fired just before 10 a.m. near the intersection of East Street and Daniel Turner Trailer Court.

Police say that Williams allegedly chased after a passing vehicle, firing multiple shots. Detectives state that the driver of the vehicle contacted authorities and identified the shooter as Williams.

Houma detective say the victim's vehicle had two bullet holes on the driver's side.

Williams was arrested for his involvement on Friday. Police state that an arrest warrant was issued after receiving additional evidence that Williams was the shooter.

He was transported to the Terrebonne Parish Jail. He has been charged with attempted first degree murder.
