TERREBONNE PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Officers say that 40 camps were robbed in Chauvin and Cocodrie areas over the past two months. Now, police have tied a Terrebonne Parish couple to the burglaries.
Police say 40 land-based camps were burglarized over the past two months. All of the camps were entered by force. Items reported missing include televisions, electronics and tools.
Detectives say they recently developed two suspects in the string of burglaries. Simon Pellegrin, 27, and Catelyn Trahan, 21, were arrested on Monday in west Houma. Police say both were caught attempting to sell stolen goods.
Officers state that the bulk of the stolen items were recovered at an undisclosed location. Detectives estimate that more than $40,000 worth of items were stolen during the burglaries. Approximately $30,000 has been recovered, police say.
Pellegrin was booked on 40 counts of simple burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also arrested for an outstanding traffic warrant. He has a previous criminal history including burglary, possession of narcotics and domestic abuse, police say.
Trahan was also booked with 40 counts of simple burglary. She has a previous criminal history including simple burglary.
