Horse farm owner arrested for raping mentally challenged woman

Vincent Datrio, 49 Vincent Datrio, 49
COVINGTON, LA (WVUE) -

A man who own a horse farm that was used to help mentally challenged and emotionally stressed people has been accused of raping a woman who used the farm for therapy.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office said Vincent Datrio, 49, owns Parkview Farms on Hwy. 21 near Covington. The farm allows individuals to use the facility and ride the horse in exchange for doing work around the farm.

A 21-year-old mentally challenged woman was at the facility on Sept. 29 when Datrio allegedly lead her to an office on the property and raped her, deputies said.

Because of the victim's mental state, Datrio was arrested for aggravated rape and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail. He is being held on a $200,000 bond.

Detectives believe Datrio may have victimized others on the farm. Anyone who thinks they may know a victim or may be a victim of Datrio is asked to call Detective Justin Parker at 985-726-7852.
