Police: Terrebonne teens break man's jaw over school bus seat

Two high school students were arrested after breaking a man's jaw over a seat on the bus.

According to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's office, 17-year-old Charles Van Norman and 18-year-old Mark Cheatham Jr. went to the man's house in Schriever to fight his 16-year-old stepson after the teen refused to give up his seat on the school bus. When the man refused to let Cheatham and Van Norman to fight his stepson, Van Norman attacked the man breaking his jaw and leaving him with multiple facial stitches. The man also had two seizures because of the attack.

According the Sheriff Jerry Larpenter, Van Norman was arrested and charged with one count of second degree battery while Cheatham was arrested and charged with one count of principle to second degree battery. Both suspects had their bond set at $50,000.
