Officers arrested a 16-year-old boy for carrying a loaded handgun aboard a bus operated by the Regional Transit Authority, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Someone tipped off authorities around 2 p.m. on Tuesday (Oct. 14) that an unidentified male had the weapon. Police stopped the bus at the intersection of Orleans Avenue and North Claiborne Avenue.
The suspect was apprehended without incident and taken to the juvenile division where he was booked for carrying a concealed firearm, police said.
Officers could not comment any further on the case because the suspect is a juvenile.
