Man sought in Carrollton-area kidnapping

The NOPD is asking for the public's help in locating and identifying a man who may have critical information about a kidnapping in the Carrollton neighborhood.

The incident occurred Oct. 11 in the 7600 block of Oak Street.

At around 3 a.m., the 20-year-old female victim was walking in the block after leaving a bar when she noticed a white or possibly Hispanic male following her. The suspect walked past the victim and tried to open the driver's door of a white vehicle that was parked in the area.

The victim said as she walked the past the suspect, he produced a knife and held it to the left side of her neck. The suspect made the victim walk with him to the 1100 block of Lowerline Street, where he started touching her inappropriately.

The victim said she saw two men walking in the block, and was able to break away from the suspect. The victim ran toward the men, yelling and screaming, and the suspect fled in an unknown direction.
