Houma man accused of threatening DA, judges

HOUMA, La. (AP) - State police say a 50-year-old Houma man has been booked with making threatening statements about Terrebonne's district attorney and judges.

Trooper Evan Harrell says Michael J. Martin made several Facebook posts critical of Terrebonne District Attorney Joe Waitz Jr. and Houma's state district judges.

After investigating, Harrell says troopers obtained an arrest warrant for Martin and took him into custody at his home Thursday without incident.

Martin was booked into the Terrebonne jail on a charge of terrorizing.

It was unclear whether Martin has an attorney.
