Suspect identified in hit-and-run that injured 2 girls in Lower 9th Ward

The NOPD has identified the driver of the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a 9-year-old girl and an 11-year-old girl injured in the Lower Ninth Ward on Oct. 5.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 26-year-old Brandon Lang for two counts of negligent Injuring and one count of hit and run.

On Oct. 9, 2014, NOPD detectives recovered a tan-colored 2001 Chevy Tahoe that they believed was used in the incident. The vehicle, which did not have a license plate, was recovered in the 2600 block of Gordon Street. Over the course of the investigation detectives were able to link Lang to the vehicle using DNA testing.

Detectives have received several CrimeStoppers tips and the investigation is on-going.
