On the fence with Saints vs. Lions

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

I can't do it. I want to. I'm tempted to. But I just can't. I've been burned too many times before.

I cannot pick the Saints to win on the road against the Detroit Lions today. 4-9 in their last 13 games away from the Superdome is just too much to ignore. But that doesn't mean the Saints CAN'T win. In fact, if there was one road game the Saints had a good chance of overcoming their road deficiencies, this would be the one.

The reasoning is simple. They're coming off a bye week where they've won five straight times. They get to play indoors and may catch a huge break with Calvin Johnson and Eric Ebron both possibly out.

It's a case of recent history contradicting itself. The Saints don't lose following the bye week, but they also don't win much on the road. Something must give today. The Saints are hoping their bye week dominance remains while their road woes disappear.

It certainly possible. But then again so is the alternative.

We will find out today which part of history will repeat itself.

The college football season starts in less than a 100 days, but Vegas already is weighing in on how the 2018 season  will play out. College football win totals from Vegas are out. #LSU over/under on wins in 7. I say they get more than 7. #Tulane is at 5.5 wins, I say the Wave get 6. Least shocking, they have #Alabama at 11 wins. The Tide will be in contention for a national title with Tua at QB. pic.twitter.com/rqCcr7wC3H — Garland Gillen (@garlandgillen) May 27, 2018 ...more>>
