Man wanted for Tulane-Gravier carjacking

New Orleans Detectives are searching for an unidentified man wanted for an early morning carjacking that took place in the Tulane-Gravier neighborhood. The incident occurred Tuesday around 2:00 a.m. in the 700 block of South Dorgenois Street.

Police say that the 23-year-old victim was about to get into his vehicle when the suspect approached the victim from behind. The suspect put an unknown object to the back of the victim and demanded the car keys. The victim handed the keys to the suspect who fled eastbound on South Dorgenois before turning north on Tulane Avenue.

The victim described the suspect as a black man with a thin build. He has a dark complexion and is anywhere between 25-30 years old and 5'11' tall. The suspect was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, dark-colored jeans and a white baseball cap.

The suspects vehicle is a maroon 2010 Chevrolet Camaro with a Georgia license plate reading PJV7964. The vehicle has after-market rims and tinted windows.
