Teenager arrested for robbing pizza delivery driver

New Orleans police arrested a 16-year-old boy for allegedly robbing a Domino's Pizza delivery driver while armed with a knife.

The suspect approached the victim in the 4800 block of General Meyer Avenue in Algiers on Tuesday afternoon, according to the victim. She said he demanded money or he would stab her stab her. The 26-year-old woman handed over $90 in cash. The suspect ran away.

Several people told officers they recognized the suspect standing in the general area before the robbery, according to police.

Several employees of the restaurant told police they noticed the same person walking behind the store on Thursday around 1:30 p.m. Officers responded and tried to question the teenager when a brief foot chase ensued. The suspect was caught in the 2600 block of Bristol Place.

The victim positively identified him as the robber, police said.

The 16-year-old boy was taken to juvenile detention where he was booked with armed robbery and aggravated assault.
