Police: Man stabbed by alleged transgender prostitute in French Quarter

Police say that a 66-year-old man was stabbed after refusing the advances of an alleged transgender prostitute in the French Quarter.

The incident happened just before 5 a.m. Monday in the 700 block of Iberville Street.

Officers say that the victim was approached by the individual at this location. After refusing the advances of the individual, police say that transgender individual attempted to pick-pocket the victim.

An altercation ensued and the victim was stabbed. The victim was taken to the hospital.

The condition of the victim is unknown at this time. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (504) 822-1111.
