Gun and credit card stolen, suspect buys $189 in cigarettes

New Orleans police are asking for the public's help in finding and identifying a man wanted in connection with a vehicle burglary and store theft that occurred Monday (Oct. 27).

On Tuesday at about 10 a.m., the 46-year-old victim entered his vehicle parked in the 3600 block of Carondelet and saw that the center console had been ransacked and his Smith & Wesson .38 caliber handgun, driver's license and credit card were missing.

When the victim called his bank to cancel his credit card, he was told that it had been used to buy $189 worth of cigarettes at the Rite Aid in the 3400 block of St. Charles Avenue.

The suspect was captured on video surveillance.
