New Orleans Police have identified two brothers who are allegedly responsible for a double murder in Central City. One of the men has been arrested.
Troy Maxwell, 17, and Jaunice Shine, 24 were shot to death near the intersection of Baronne and Second streets on Oct. 3. Police discovered the victims inside a silver 2006 Nissan Altima.
During an investigation, detectives identified Dereck Meyers, 22 and his brother Michael Meyers, 20, as suspects in the case.
Dereck was arrested at the St. Charles Avenue Probation and Parole office Friday (Oct. 31) at 7:30 a.m. Michael remains at large and is also currently wanted for illegal carrying of weapons from a separate incident.
The brothers will be charged with first-degree murder.
