CUT OFF, LA (WVUE) - The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest in the arson of a storage trailer full of toys headed for a Cut Off department store.
At around 3:15 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 1), deputies responded to the Walmart on Highway 3235 in Cut Off after receiving a call that a storage trailer behind the store was on fire. The trailer contained an entire shipment of new toys to be sold at the store.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze, but the trailer was a total loss. Investigators determined that the fire began when someone tried to break into the storage unit using a torch.
