The NOPD is asking for the public's help in finding two men wanted in the armed robbery and beating of a pedicab driver in the Warehouse District.
The robbery occurred Oct. 27 near the intersection of Carondelet and Julia streets.
At about 12:30 a.m., the 26-year-old male victim was traveling on Carondelet Street toward Canal Street when a someone started yelling at him. A witness told police that the victim pulled into a vacant parking lot and someone armed with a baseball bat. A short time later, the witness found the victim lying on the ground bleeding from the head. He told the witness that the robber had taken his money and pedicab.
During the course of the investigation, detectives obtained surveillance video that showed a newer-model Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra pickup truck pull up to the robber. The robber put the pedicab in the back of the truck and drove off.
The truck driver and the robber are described as black males and believed to be from the Houston, Texas area.
The pedicab is described as a red/blue 2011 Main Street Classic bearing Louisiana license plate number QPNC#44 and serial number #E2F110.
