VIDEO: Pedicab stolen, loaded into truck after baseball bat attack

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Police have released new video following the armed robbery of a pedicab driver in the Warehouse District.

The 26-year-old victim was traveling on Carondelet Street towards Canal Street around 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 27 when someone started yelling at him, according to New Orleans police. The victim pulled his pedicab into a vacant parking lot where an attacker wearing a gray hooded jacked chased him armed with a bat.

A witness ran into the parking lot and found the victim lying on the ground bleeding from the head. The victim told the witness the person in the hooded jacket took his pedicab and money.

The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries.

NOPD detectives obtained surveillance video of a Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra pick-up truck pull up to the attacker. The driver helped him load the pedicab into the back of the truck. The men are believed to be from the Houston area.

The pedicab is described as a red/blue 2011 Main Street Classic bearing Louisiana license plate number QPNC#44 and serial number #E2F110.
