Grand Isle fire chief bonds out of jail

GRETNA, LA (WVUE) - Grand Isle's fire chief bonded out of jail after deputies booked Thursday during a drug sting.

Aubrey Chaisson posted his $500 bond and was released from the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center due to jail overcrowding. He faces misdemeanor charges after investigators say they seized a small amount marijuana from his home.

Sources Grand Isle's fire board suspended Chaisson and firefighter Patrick Santiny, who was also arrested in the undercover operation.

In all, deputies arrested 20 people in the case yesterday, and more arrests are expected.
