NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - After some ridiculously cold days around here with highs barely hitting 50 on Friday and Slidell dipping to 29 and staying at or below freezing for 7 hours we could use a bit of warmer air around here. It looks like we will get it for Sunday morning Saints tailgating.
Temperatures though cold Saturday night after sunset begin to warm in the wee hours of the morning as some Gulf air begins to make its way north.
Look for temperatures to be much more mild to start Sunday and it should stay rather pleasant with just a few more clouds around. By late in the day another frontal system approaches and with increased moisture we will see some rain.
Heavy storms and rain totals are likely as the next frontal system approaches with the weather service calling for as much as 1-3 inches of rain overnight Sunday into Monday. On Monday another cold front pushes in with air even colder than what we experienced the last couple of days.
Keep those coats in reach.
