Saints award Bengals fan who had ball taken from her

A Bengals fan who had a ball taken from her in the third quarter of Sunday's Saints vs. Bengals game in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, was given a replacement by a Saints official.

After Jermaine Gresham of the Bengals scored on a 1-yard touchdown reception, Gresham walked over to the stands and tossed a ball towards Bengals fan Christa Barrett. A Saints fan sitting in the front row stepped in front of the toss and snatched the ball away from Barrett.

Barrett begged and pleaded for the man to hand the ball over, but the man would not. The incident, which was shown on the during the television broadcast of the game, quickly became a trending topic on social media sites.

As the game wound down in the fourth quarter, a representative of the Saints found where Barrett was sitting in the stands and presented a football to her, which she gladly accepted.

"I was more begging because we wanted a picture with the ball, honestly,” she said. “That was kind of the begging picture was 'hey, can we at least get a picture with the ball?' But the gentleman was very protective over it, which is understandable. Apparently, he's been sitting in those seats for a very long time and this is his first opportunity to get a ball and so I'm actually very happy that he was able to get it."

"So you're not angry with him?" FOX 8 asked.

"Oh no. Gosh, not at all," said Barrett
