NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Huge waves were crashing over Lakeshore Drive in New Orleans on Monday. The water covered the road at the corner of Franklin where the Orleans Parish Levee District closed off the road in both directions from Franklin to the Seabrook Bridge.
Water was on the road and debris was scattered across the area. The south shore is under a high wind advisory until 6 p.m.
Winds are sustained at 30 miles an hour and gusting higher creating a chaotic shop in Lake Pontchartrain. This is all ahead of a freeze tonight on both sides of the lake.
