ALGIERS, LA (WVUE) - Due to an excessive number of students and teachers sick with the flu, an Algiers elementary school was forced to cancel classes on Tuesday.
St. Andrew the Apostle Roman Catholic School closed its doors on Tuesday.
The school released a statement on Monday, saying in part:
"We hope that this is not an inconvenience to you; however we feel that this is in the best interest for the students. For everyone's safety, we will take the precautionary measure of disinfecting the entire school."
The school says they intend to have classes on Wednesday.
