Coroner positively IDs victims of Lake Ponchartrain plane crash

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

The Orleans Parish coroner on Wednesday positively identified the bodies found in Lake Pontchartrain as those of Burt Lattimore and Aftab Rab, the men whose plane crashed in Lake Pontchartrain Nov. 12.

Police discovered the bodies near the Seabrook Bridge in the 5400 block of Lakeshore Drive.

The men were on board a Cessna 172 when it crashed last Wednesday night in frigid conditions.

Lattimore, of Chalmette, had been a pilot for more than 25 years, according to Brayton Matthews, the general manager of Flightline. Rab was identified  by NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune as a student.
