NOPD identifies Bourbon Street hotel hustler

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Police have identified a woman who is accused of going to a hotel with a man and stealing his Rolex, cash and credit cards.

The 35-year-old victim was walking on Bourbon Street on Nov. 4 when Danette Colbert, 37, approached him to hang out with her, according to the New Orleans Police Department. The victim agreed and took her back to his hotel room in the 600 block of St. Charles Avenue.

The victim fell asleep and when he woke up, he discovered Colbert, his $4,000 Rolex, credit cards and $100 in cash were gone.

Colbert used the victim's credit cards approximately 20 times at businesses in the 4600 block of Chef Menteur Highway, according to police.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Colbert for theft in the amount of $4,100, possession of stolen property and access device fraud in the amount of $3,584. Colbert is also wanted for intimidating, impeding or injuring witnesses.
